What we do

EuroPayCalc builds free calculators for people trying to understand what a salary is actually worth in a given European country — and how far it goes once you account for the cost of living. Our first tool compares net take-home pay in Germany, the Netherlands, and Ireland using each country's official 2026 tax-year parameters.

Why the numbers are sourced, not scraped

Salary and tax calculators are financial content, so accuracy matters. Rather than templating a single formula across countries and translating the copy, every calculator on this site is built from parameters read directly from primary sources:

• Germany: the official §32a EStG income tax tariff (gesetze-im-internet.de) and social insurance contribution rates published by Deutsche Rentenversicherung and the Federal Ministry of Health.
• Netherlands: Box 1 tax brackets and tax credits (heffingskortingen) published by the Belastingdienst under the Belastingplan 2026.
• Ireland: Revenue.ie's official Budget 2026 summary, covering PAYE bands, USC, tax credits, and PRSI.
• Cost of living: Eurostat's Comparative Price Level Indices (dataset tec00120).

Each calculator states its assumptions clearly (currently: a single person, no dependents, standard employment contract) and is reviewed against official sources at least once a year, since tax parameters change with each annual budget.

What this site is not

EuroPayCalc is a comparison and estimation tool, not a substitute for a qualified tax advisor. Figures are simplified and may not reflect your personal situation — see our Terms of Service for details.
